On Saturday, October 14, the Bulldog Band traveled to Pittsburg, KS to participate in the University’s Homecoming Parade. After a GREAT football game the night before, 6:15 came really early the next morning! The kids got a pretty good nap in, on the way to the parade, though! The Band competed in the “Gold Class” with nine other band programs from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas. The parade was a little on the warm side, however, we did have a comfortable breeze from the south! After the parade, we traveled to PSU’s football stadium and enjoyed watching the Pride of the Plains Marching Band do a rehearsal and announce the winners from the parade. The Bulldog Band received 1st Place in our class, beating, 2nd Place - Southeast HS (KS), & 3rd Place - Commerce HS (OK). Many compliments were heard from the crowd as we marched down Broadway! I am very proud of our Bulldog Band and very appreciative of the wonderful comments and positive vibes being sent to our program! We have two more competitions left (Maple Leaf Parade - 9:00 AM @ Carthage, MO & Maple Leaf Field Competition - 1:00 PM @ Carthage HS) and a PLAYOFF FOOTBALL game this week! We would love to see you come out and cheer on our Bulldogs on Friday night and see our show! Thank you all for your continued support!
