Joe Pollack is a Senior band member in the El Dorado Springs Bulldog Band. Joe has played Alto Saxophone since 5th Grade Beginning Band.
After high school, Joe is enlisting in the United States Air Force. While Joe is still unsure about what he wants to do in the Air Force, we all know his character, intelligence, and wit will guide him in his future. Other questions asked of Joe:
Mr. White has enjoyed Joe's sense of humor and his dry personality. You never really know what Joe is going to say, nor do you know if he is kidding or totally serious. Joe's experience will be missed next year, but he has been great to help encourage the underclassman saxophone players. Mr. White and the rest of the band would like to wish Joe the best of luck in future! Congratulations, Joe!

El Dorado Springs had five students participate in the Southwest Missouri Music Educator's Association Honors Bands. The three ensembles are comprised of area high school students, who happen to be some of the best musicians in Southwest Missouri.
Caleb Alexander and Ethan Roberts were selected, way back in November, to the SWMMEA All-District Honor Band. This honor also made these two students eligible to audition for the Missouri All-State Band. The students rehearsed on Friday, January 6, 5:00 - 9:00 PM and Saturday, January 7, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. They then performed a concert on Saturday, January 7 at 5:00 PM, at Joplin High School's Performance Arts Center. Courtney Lame & Tommy Higbie were nominated by Mr. White for the SWMMEA All-Conference Band. This ensemble was established to give the students in our area, another Honor Band to perform with. The students rehearsed on Friday, January 6, 5:00 - 9:00 PM and Saturday, January 7, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. They then performed a concert on Saturday, January 7 at 5:00 PM, at Joplin High School's Performance Arts Center. Brice Knoll auditioned and was selected for the SWMMEA All-District 8th Grade Honor Band. Brice the only Eldo student selected for the 7th and 8th Grade ensembles. Brice had a rehearsal on Saturday, January 21, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with a concert performed at 5:00 PM at the Webb City High School's Burton Auditorium. We have so much to proud of for these kids! They worked very hard and I am looking forward to seeing what they continue to do throughout the year! Congratulations, Brice, Courtney, Tommy, Ethan, and Caleb!  On Friday, January 6, members of the Eldo JH Band traveled to Joplin High School in order to audition for the SWMMEA District JH Honor Band. Of the 5 students who auditioned, one earned a spot into one of the two Honor Bands. Brice Knoll earned the 3rd Chair seat in the Trombone section of the 8th Grade Honor Band.
Brice and Mr. White will travel to Webb City High School on Saturday, January 14, where Bryce will rehearse with the Honor Band from 9 am - 12 am, then 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm, with the concert starting at 5:00 pm. Congrats, Brice, on this major honor! |
