Senior Spotlight: Ashlie Cartwright

Ashlie Cartwright is a Senior band member in the El Dorado Springs Bulldog Band. Ashlie has played Trumpet since 5th Grade Beginning Band.

After high school, Ashlie plans to attend Missouri Sourthern State Univeristy. Ashlie's plan is to major in education, then become a teacher. Ashlie's kind and caring spirit will help guide her as an educator.

Other questions asked of Ashlie:

What is your favorite memory of band?
- "Everything. I love band and the people in it."
What will you miss about HS or HS Band?
- "Marching band competitions"
Why did you choose to be a member of the band?
- "At first I was just trying something new, but it turned into a mini family."

Mr. White will miss Ashlie's ability to always make him laugh. Ashlie is a talented young lady with a passion to encourage others and make everyone feel like they are a part of the greater group.

Mr. White and the rest of the band would like to wish Ashlie the best of luck in her future! Congratulations, Ashlie!

Bulldog Band To Get New Uniforms!

The Bulldog Band is very excited to announce that the Board of Education approved the Proposal of New Uniforms at last night's meeting! Mr. White was joined by Caleb Alexander, Cody Rutledge, Matthew Reddick, and Alex Posey to present the current uniforms and new uniform concept to the Board. With 6-0 vote, the board approved the go ahead with the new uniforms and offered to pay $12,000 of the uniform cost, which is about half of the total cost of the new uniforms.

The Bulldog Band will be announcing various ways to contribute to this project in the upcoming week. Some ideas for how to help fund this project will be through a Corporate Sponsorship from the local businesses of Eldo, seeking donations from local organizations and individuals, selling our current uniforms, and other fundraiser items.

We hope that you will join us as we work to get these new uniforms for our growing Band program! We are beyond excited and ready to take on this challenge!
