The Bulldog Band was at it again this weekend! The Bulldog Band traveled to Stockton on Friday, September 28 for the annual Cedar County Bowl! The Bulldog Band was welcomed by the Stockton Tiger Band with food, music, and fellowship. The two bands gathered together to play the Star Spangled Banner for the pregame festivities of the match-up. The Bulldog Band had a lot to cheer for as the Bulldog Football team took it to the Tigers with a final score of 49-0! It was a great evening to share with our Football Coaches and Players! After a quick night's sleep, the Bulldog Band was up and at it again in competition at the 2018 Black Walnut Festival Parade! The Band competed in the Class 3 portion of the parade against Strafford High School. The Bulldog Band placed first in their class AND brought home a trophy for the OUTSTANDING COLOR GUARD for the entire parade! This meant the Bulldog Band's Color Guard scored the highest out of ALL the bands present in this caption! The Band also scored the highest in the category of Marching & Maneuvering! It was a great weekend to be a BULLDOG! So very proud of each of our students and all the organizations that continue to represent this school and community!
Go Bulldogs!

The Bulldog Band had a great first outing this weekend, when they competed at the Carl Junction Marching Festival! The Bulldog Band performed at 10:45 AM in Class A Preliminary Competition. To say that this performance was our best is a MAJOR understatement. The kids felt defeated, but we stuck it out to the awards anyway. At the end of the afternoon, the Bulldog Band received Outstanding Color Guard for Class A AND earned First Place in our class! Other bands in Class A included, Butler High School, Seymour High School, & Miller High School. Because the Bulldog Band won Class A, they were selected to perform in the Finals Competition that evening! The Band then drew to perform in first in the Finals Competition. After a quick rehearsal and covering a few things that the band didn't do so well at in the Preliminary performance, the Bulldog Band took the field at 7:00 PM to start the Finals portion of the night. The phrase, "Night and Day Difference" was completely accurate in the case of the Bulldog Band on Saturday. Music was performed a ton better. The drill was marched a ton better. The Bulldog Band looked like the Bulldog Band we all know and love! At the end of it all, the Bulldog Band came home with 10th Place in Finals. Other Finals bands were Willard High School, Webb City High School, Aurora High School, Logan-Rogersville High School, Branson High School, Parkview High School, Carthage High School, Mt. Vernon High School, & Nevada High School. All-in-all I would say that the Bulldog Band redeemed themselves from their Preliminary Performance and had a great run in Finals! The Bulldog Band will be back at it this weekend, traveling to the Cedar County Bowl in Stockton, and then going back to Stockton for the Black Walnut Festival Parade, which starts at 2:00 PM. Thank you all for your continued support! We hope to see and hear you at the football game and at the Black Walnut Parade, which is Friday, September 28 & Saturday, September 29! |
